About Sharla
Hello! I’m Sharla. I’m a licensed massage therapist, 200-hour registered yoga teacher (RYT), Certified BodyTalk Practitioner, and am in the process of becoming a certified Kalari Movement instructor. I completed 250 hours of study in Thai massage in Thailand, and I’m certified by the Thai government. I also have a degree in engineering.
Those are my credentials, but just as important is the fact that I’m a problem solver. I treat the integrated system that is your body like a real-life engineering challenge. I’m lighthearted and funny but also have great depth and understanding when things get real. I’ve been told my holistic approach to bodywork is magical. I’m excited to meet you!
In Clinic Sessions
Therapeutic Thai Massage
I offer a variety of bodywork modalities designed to give you access to your body in a new way. How you’ve always felt isn’t how you have to feel tomorrow or next week or next year—and I can help you create and embrace those possibilities.
I customize each session to meet your specific needs, whether you’re dealing with an acute injury, working through chronic pain, or looking for prevention and maintenance tools. Therapeutic Thai massage is performed on a mat on the floor. You’ll stay fully clothed, and there are no lotions or oils involved. I use my hands, elbows, knees, and feet as massage tools. However, I will never walk on your back or stand on your body!
Your session may include a combination of joint mobilization, myofascial release, advanced sports massage, and FMT Rocktape.
For bodywork sessions, please wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely.
BodyTalk
BodyTalk is a comprehensive system designed to optimize healthy communication within the body. BodyTalk allows for deep transformation to occur on many levels: physical, mental, emotional, environmental, spiritual, intellectual and energetic. Afterwards, you may notice that you feel lighter, your response to stress has decreased, or a physical symptom has resolved.

Virtual Sessions
Massage
Turn your tools into my hands (elbows, knees and feet)!! We will use whatever you have on hand: foam rollers, lacrosse balls, the rolling pin massage thing, a Thera-gun, anything you've got. I will teach you specific ways to use your tools to feel like you just got a massage from me. This is not a generic sequence for every body, this will be specific for you and where you may be feeling pain, tightness, or tension.
Live on a Zoom call, for individuals or partners.
Available in 60 and 90 minute sessions.
Partner Thai Massage
Learn a full body Thai Massage sequence to perform on your partner while in the comfort of your own home. These Thai Massage techniques use your own body weight and biomechanics to relieve tension and help your partner feel better in their body. Giving someone a massage does not have to feel draining or exhausting. You will be surprised by how effortless it feels to give this full body sequence.
During our time together, you and your partner will both have a chance to give and receive the full sequence. You will receive a pdf workbook with images of the sequence, and will have plenty of time to ask questions and get specific guidance. You will end the call feeling confident you and your partner can move through the sequence on your own, again and again. These will be tools you can use for many years to come!
Private Yoga
Each private yoga session is designed around what you need on a given day. We may combine yoga with foam rolling and myofascial release. Sometimes we may include guided breath work or meditation. For one or two people.
BodyTalk
BodyTalk is a comprehensive system designed to optimize healthy communication within the body. BodyTalk allows for deep transformation to occur on many levels: physical, mental, emotional, environmental, spiritual, intellectual and energetic. Afterwards, you may notice that you feel lighter, your response to stress has decreased, or a physical symptom has resolved. I will facilitate the session over a live Zoom call and coach you through the balancing techniques, instructing you on hand placements and tapping.

Sharla started by asking if I had any areas of concern in my body. Yes, I sure did. You name it: hips, shoulders, and especially obliques (my current “top three”). She worked in poses that specifically addressed my focus areas and she guided me through some oblique stretches that hit the exact right spots. Sharla also shared some cues and tips that helped me activate areas of my body that were previously difficult for me to engage. COMPLETELY AMAZING!
Sharla certainly knows how to instruct me in moving my body for maximum benefit. I always leave Sharla’s practice feeling energized and appreciative. Though I’d prefer to experience her “medicine” in person, the virtual experience is the next best thing to being there. I only wish I had started my virtual sessions with Sharla sooner, and I look forward my sessions with her next week.”
